'We Boast in the Lord'

Psalm 20:7 NLT
Some nations boast in their armies and weapons, but we boast in the Lord our God.

Psalm 33:16-21
The best-equipped army cannot save a king, nor is great strength enough to save a warrior. Don't count on your warhorse to give you victory—for all it's strength, it cannot save you.

But the LORD watches over those who fear Him, those who rely on His unfailing love.
He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.
We depend on the Lord alone to save us. Only He can help us, protecting us like a shield.
In Him our hearts rejoice, for we are trusting in His holy name.

Psalm 33:10-11
The LORD shatters the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But the Lord's plans stand firm forever; His intentions can never be shaken.

Psalm 33:22
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone.

Some reminders today for those of us “who fear Him:” for those who have Jesus Christ as “the Lord (their) God:”

1) We don't put our trust in governments or “armies” or jobs or money or leaders—“we boast in the Lord our God.”
2) We “rely on His unfailing love” and “we depend on the Lord alone to save us”...because everything/everyone else “cannot save.”
3) We ask and depend upon the Lord for “rescues” and “help,” because it is HE who protects us “like a shield.”
4) We need not fear—for we are trusting in Him whose “plans stand firm forever;” His wonderful, eternal plans will happen! “His intentions can never be shaken!”

Whatever is on your heart today, Beloved, do not fear and do not worry. “Instead, PRAY about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). Moreover, “Be strong and courageous! Don't be afraid...for there is a power far greater on our side! We have the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” (2 Chronicles 32:7-8) We who have been saved serve a HUGE and KIND and ALL-POWERFUL God!

Beloved, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13)...because we have a VERY WONDERFUL GOD!

“Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone!”
