'Deuteronomy prayer'

Deuteronomy 13:4 NLT
Serve only the Lord your God and fear Him alone. Obey His commands, listen to His voice, and cling to Him.
Heavenly Father,
(“Serve only the Lord Your God”)
I come before you today VERY aware that I don't always serve “only” You—I often serve only myself. Forgive me Father, for the many times I put myself or anything/anyone else before You. I come right now desiring to “seek first” Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and Your purposes for me. I know You “will give (me) all (I) need from day to day if (I) live for (You) and make (Your kingdom my) primary concern” (Matthew 6:33).
(“fear Him alone”)
Since nothing can separate me from Your love, since You are always with me, since You are in control, since You will bring me through, and since You will enable me to do whatever You call me to can I be afraid? I will “fear” You “alone.”
(“Obey His commands”)
As I go through this day, Father, I will rejoice as I choose to obey You—I know Your commands are GOOD, I know I glorify You when I obey, and I know Your commands are for MY good (obeying Your commands keeps me on Your best path! Obeying Your commands prevents me from chasing after things that harm!).
(“listen to His voice”)
I will listen to Your voice today, Father. Help me pay better attention to Your Spirit and spend time listening to You through reading, meditating on, and applying Your Word.
(“and cling to Him”)
Help me cling to You alone, Lord. I know nothing else is as precious and wonderful as knowing You. You are everything I need—every day and forever...
