'WISDOM!'

Proverbs 8:1-17, 9:10-11, Romans 11:33, James 1:5
Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice! On the hilltop along the road, she takes her stand at the crossroads. By the gates at the entrance to the town, on the road leading in, she cries aloud, “I call to you, to ALL of you! I raise my voice to ALL people. You simple people, use good judgment. You foolish people, show some understanding. Listen to me! For I have important things to tell you. Everything I say is right, for I speak the truth and detest every kind of deception. My advice is wholesome. There is nothing devious or crooked in it. My words are plain to anyone with understanding, clear to those with knowledge. (Proverbs 8:1-9)

Oh, how GREAT are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! (Romans 11:33)

Choose my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it. (Proverbs 8:10-11)

Oh, how GREAT are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! (Romans11:33)

“I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment. I know where to discover knowledge and discernment. All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech. Common sense and success belong to me. Insight and strength are mine. Because of me, kings reign, and rulers make just decrees. Rulers lead with my help, and nobles make righteous judgments. (Proverbs 8:12-16)

Oh, how GREAT are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! (Romans 11:33)

“I (God's Wisdom) love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me. Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life.” (Proverbs 8:17, 9:10-11) If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (James 1:5)

When I read this today, it made me smile...because I love being reminded of this truth! And here's the truth: I'm a “simple” person, folks—a “foolish” person who needs to hear what is “right!” I need “the truth” spoken to me constantly, because when left to myself...I am foolish, stubborn, sin-filled, I lack common sense, and I'm NOT very smart! Yes, I need to hear truly “wholesome” advice—with “nothing devious or crooked in it!” I need wisdom that is “plain” and “clear” that gives “good judgment, knowledge, discernment, common sense, success, insight and strength”...and I can only get that kind of wisdom from God—from His Word. As I read the Bible, His Word and principles give me right understanding of who God is (and as a result, I respect and worship Him more!). Moreover, increased “knowledge of” Him and of His wise instruction “results in good judgment”—real wisdom for wisely thinking, living, deciding and doing...

Heavenly Father, help us Believers to remember who we are without Your wisdom (“SIMPLE! FOOLISH!”). Help us to rightly crave, “search” for, “ask” for, and depend upon Your Wisdom—not our own! We ask for Your wisdom and Your wise Spirit/Word to guide us today! We pray Your wisdom for us as we make every decision, as we speak every word—so our decisions and words are truly “just” and “righteous!” Moreover, we ask that You use us to lovingly share Your wisdom with others...so they can know real wisdom that “is right—wholesome,” with “nothing devious or crooked in it,” real wisdom that is “plain” and “clear” that gives “good judgment, knowledge, discernment, common sense, success, insight and strength!”

We ask this in Your Son's name, Father...make us a people who live by Your wisdom, so our lives glorify YOU!

AMEN!
