'Wisdom, Faith, Strength, LOVE!'

In one of our bathrooms hangs a shower curtain with Scripture verses...but I don't really notice the words on the curtain anymore. This morning, however, as I was tidying up the little room, I read those verses. How profound and wonderful my shower curtain verses are, folks! Let me share...

Wisdom: Proverbs 4:6
“Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.”
Reading this verse today reminded me that God's wisdom is wisdom worth pursuing—God reveals His real wisdom in the Bible. I seek to know God and His wisdom through reading His Word—searching for His wise truths and His wise ways. Moreover, when I APPLY His wise Words to my life—by BELIEVING in His Son and FOLLOWING His commands—I am protected! I'm protected because heeding His wisdom (having faith in, following, and obeying the Son!) prevents me from making unnecessary mistakes! His wisdom prevents me from making foolish wrong-way choices that injure!

Faith: Ephesians 6:16
“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”
Fellow Believers: our Faith is NECESSARY! It's necessary for our salvation (faith in Jesus is what saves!)! Moreover, when we are fully certain of the truth of all God's promises, we can turn and wield our “shield of faith” in any direction! This makes our “shield” a powerful tool for protection—protecting us from temptations AND from the enemy's fiery “arrows” hurled at us!

Strength: Philippians 4:13
“I can do everything through HIM who gives me strength.”
Folks, there is NOTHING coming our way today that we won't be able to handle—when we depend upon Jesus, when we keep our minds and hearts focused on Him, and when we do everything in His strength!

Love: John 15:12
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
We have commanded to “LOVE each other!” The Holy Spirit enables us to do this! When we ask, He will help us do this and He will show us how to “love each other as” Jesus has “loved” us!

Heavenly Father: Help us each go about our day today 1) seeing every situation through Your “wisdom,” 2) using “faith” as our great shield,” 3) depending on Your all-sufficient “strength,” and 4) eager/enabled to do as You have commanded—to “LOVE!” We ask this in Your Son's name, Father...

AMEN!!!
