'Psalm 143:10 NAS'

Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

This verse caused me to pause this morning, take inventory, and pray...

Teach me”...

Father, we Believers are not always teachable. We do not always desire to listen and be taught. Thank you for reminding us that we DO need teaching—and please give us teachable spirits.

Teach me to do Your will”...

Teach us to do “Your will,” Lord, not our own. Show us what Your will is through Your Word, and use Your Spirit to teach/empower us to DO it. Make it our desire and endeavor to know and do Your will, Father, and to stand complete in it.

For You are my God”...

Since You are our God, You are also our ruler—whose will we ought to desire and strive to do. Please help us sincerely take You as our God, Heavenly Father, so we depend on You to teach us to do Your will (as a servant depends on his master!).

Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground”...

Thank You for reminding us that Your Spirit is “good,” Father. He is “good” because 1) He is from You, 2) He is “good” because He leads us to recognize our need for Your Son, 3) He is “good” because He teaches us and empowers us to “do Your will,” 4) He is “good” because He is able to make us good, and 5) He is “good” because He leads us into the good way (Your way!) while He keeps us and carries us in it—making Your way “level ground” for us...

Lord, we recognize Your power to redirect our lives—and we ask for that. Restructure our hearts so we are teachable, restructure our wills so we endeavor to learn and do Your will, restructure our minds so we have You as our ruler (not ourselves), and restructure our spirits so we let Your Spirit lead us forward on firm footing:

Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Amen!
