'Psalm 119'

Psalm 119:1-2 NAS
How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord. How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart.

In my Bible, Psalm 119 is subtitled “Meditations and Prayers Relating to the Law of God”...but it's so much more than that. That is, it's the heart cry and declaration of someone who got it—someone who truly understood the wonderfulness of God and His powerful truths. Based on his right understanding of God and His Word, the unknown author of Psalm 119 made requests of God and he chose God...

His right understanding of God
Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven. (89) Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations. (90) You established the earth, and it stands. (90) Your hands made me and fashioned me. (73) Your ordinances are good. (39) You have dealt well with Your servant...according to Your Word. (65) You are good and do good. (68) Your judgments are righteous. (75) In faithfulness You have afflicted me. (75) Your compassion come(s) to me that I may live. (77) All Your commandments are faithful. (86) Your commandment is exceedingly broad. (96) Righteous are You, O Lord, and upright are Your judgments. (137) You have commanded Your testimonies in righteousness and exceeding faithfulness. (138) Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth. (142) Your testimonies are righteous forever. (144) The sum of Your Word is truth, and every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. (160)

Heavenly Father: We may not know who this unknown author of Psalm 119 is, but it doesn't matter—clearly, he GOT it! Help us get it too, Lord: 1) help us increasingly understand You, 2) help us increasingly experience the power of Your truths and recognize our need for Your valuable Word, 3) help us rightly ask You to GROW our ability to understand and keep Your Word, and 4) help us daily CHOOSE to incline our hearts to You, to “perform Your statutes forever, even to the end!” We ask this in Your Son's name, Lord...
