'Simple Reasons for Rejoicing'

Romans 5:1-5 NLT
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.

What great reasons we have to rejoice today, brothers and sisters in Christ! Considering the blessings spoken of in Romans 5:1-5...

1) We can rejoice today because “we have been made right in God’s sight by faith!” This means “we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us!” Hallelujah!

2) We can also rejoice today because “Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand!” That is...through faith, we've been made children of God! Through faith, we are clothed in Christ's righteousness! Through faith, all our sins are forgiven! Through faith, we have a new nature—like our Savior's! Through faith, we can do all things through Him who strengthens us! Through faith, “We confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory,” not his wrath! Hallelujah!

3) “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance!” The daily trials and frustrations and enemy attacks we face have purpose—God allows us to experience these difficulties to help us grow. Our day to day problems 1) expose our short-comings so we can better see the areas God is working in our lives, 2) they build our character so we look and act more like our Savior, 3) they keep us turning to the Lord for help/wisdom/strength, and 4) they deepen our trust and dependence on God. Hallelujah!

4) Finally, we can rejoice today because “dearly God LOVES us!” We know this “because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love!” Hallelujah!

Heavenly Father, today we come before you REJOICING! Our hearts are “filled with JOY!” We “burst out in songs of thanksgiving” (psalm 28:7b) on account of these blessings You've poured out on us!

AMEN!!!
