'You did it to Me'

Matthew 25:31-40 NASB

“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’
“Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to \ You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “

Last night, after teaching littles about Mary anointing her Savior's feet, and after watching a Jesus movie before bed, I found myself bemoaning my inability to physically touch and minister to my Jesus. I so wanted to be like Mary do something to HIM and for HIM! As I was praying about that, frustrated (because Jesus is in heaven and I'm here!), this verse came to mind: ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “ Right after that, I thought about the ways the Lord has recently used me to physically meet needs of others. How humbling it was to be assured and reminded by The Word of this powerful fact—when we Believers take care of others, we ARE doing it to Jesus, our righteous and wonderful treasure and “King”...

Lord Jesus, thank You for the precious reminder last night: I feel like my head and heart have been re-calibrated by Your Word. Open my eyes, and the eyes of those reading this, so we constantly lavish You with the love and care and compassion You deserve—through the love, care, compassion, and help we give to others! Furthermore, grow our desire and ability to show our love for You through meeting the needs of others, because...

“He who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord” (Proverbs 19:17a), and “God is not unfair. He will not forget how hard you have worked for Him and how you have shown your love to Him by caring for other Christians” (Hebrews 6:10)...

Thank You, Lord, for being such an amazing Savior. Help us go go out everyday, willing, led, and enabled by Your Spirit to “do” to “the least of them.” When we do this, we are assured we are physically doing for and “to” YOU!!!
