'The Security of Those Who Trust in the Lord'

Psalm 37:18-19 NLT

Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent,

and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.
They will not be disgraced in hard times;

even in famine they will have more than enough.

Psalm 37: 23-24

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,

for the Lord holds them by the hand.

Psalm 37: 39-40

The Lord rescues the godly;
 He is their
fortress in times of trouble.
The
Lord helps them,
rescuing them from the wicked.
He saves them,
and they find shelter in Him
.

When I read the subtitle my Bible gave Psalm 37 (The Security of Those Who Trust in the Lord), I admit, I loved it. That subtitle is perfect because Psalm 37 reminds the “innocent” of the wonderful ways God cares for them (what “security” we have when we are “innocent”...when we have been washed and made new by His Son's blood!). Folks: those who have Jesus as their Savior (those who passionately live for, pursue, and obey the One who loves them most), they have nothing to fear...

Day by day the Lord takes care of” them...

“they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever”...

“They will not be disgraced in hard times”...

“even in famine they will have more than enough”...

The Lord directs” their steps...

He delights in every detail of their lives”...

“they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand”...

The Lord rescues” them...

He is their fortress in times of trouble”...

The Lord helps them”...

He saves them”...

they find shelter in Him”...

Heavenly Father, thank You for “The Security of Those Who Trust in the Lord!” We lay our worries at the cross and “put (ALL our) hope in” You. Help us “travel steadily along (Your) path” (trusting You, obeying You, putting You first, and taking delight in You). Direct our steps through Your Word and Spirit as You daily care for us. We commit everything we “do to the Lord.” We “trust” You. You “will help” us (Psalm 37:34, 3-7) as we choose to live for You...

He protects the lives of His godly people
and
rescues them from the power of the wicked.
Light shines on the godly,
and
joy on those whose hearts are right.

May all who are godly rejoice in the Lord
and
praise His holy name

for “The Security of Those Who Trust in the Lord!

(Psalm 97:10-12)

AMEN!
