'Mountain-Climbing Messengers'

Isaiah 52:7 NLT
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel REIGNS!

Romans 10:8-15
And that message is the very message about faith that we preach:  If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.  As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced.”  Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on Him.  For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!

This morning, after spending some time considering these verses, I was reminded...

...on the mountains...
I was reminded that my life here is a temporary journey, a passing-through, and a faith climb “on...mountains.” That means each day I face mountains and am “on...mountain” paths with my Lord. Daily, He is my strength, my comfort, my hope, my preserver, and my guide as I travel, and “the mountains” grow my love and dependence on Him (for His glory and my best good...so I become more like His Son).

the messenger...”
I was reminded that as a believer, I am the messenger!”  Wherever the Lord leads me, whatever “mountain” I'm climbing, I am to share the good news along the way: ”the good news of peace and salvation, the news that God...REIGNS,” and the good news that If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved....Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced.”

being sent...
I was reminded that I need to consider “being sent!” opportunities! Specifically, I need to be sensitive to the Spirit's leading when “being sent” opportunities come my way! If I'm not called to go, I AM called to help send someone else! After all, “how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?

Heavenly Father, keep us mindful today, as we climb our “mountains” with You, that we Believers are Your “MESSENGERS!” We are to proclaim the Good News along the way! Help us keep our eyes on Your Son as we look for the sharing opportunities and the “being sent” opportunities You give us, Lord. Make our feet “beautiful” as we do what You have called us to do...

AMEN!!!
