'Beam Me Up Scotty!'

Romans 14:8 NAS
...we live for the lord...
Confession: there are times when I pray—often and fervently—“Come Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20)! And though I know it's okay to pray this, I also need to remember why I'm still here...
I remain to “live for the Lord,”

I remain to glorify Christ in our daily life—word after word, decision after decision, day by day,

I remain to love others (as He loves us) so others can know His love,

I remain because the Holy Spirit uses my testimony to break up “the fallow ground” of people's hearts,

I remain to proclaim—to tell others about my Lord as “heralds publishing salvation,”

I remain to be "salt of the earth," to be a blessing to the watching world,

I remain so I can be a “light” shining for Jesus in the darkness,

I remain to be a worker for Him, working together with Him for the advancement of His Kingdom...

There's GREAT purpose in our remaining, brothers and sisters in Christ! We can eagerly (and often) say, “Come Lord Jesus,” but we must always remember “not one of us lives for himself...if we live, we live for the Lord” (Romans 14:7a, 8). Christ “died for all, that (we) who live should no longer live for (ourselves), but for Him who died and rose again on (our) behalf” (2 Corinthians 4:15). We “have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer (we) who live, but Christ lives in (us); and the life which (we) now live in the flesh (we) live by faith in the Son of God, who loved (us), and delivered Himself up for” us (Galatians 2:20).

Lord Jesus, how wonderful it will be when You call us home! For now, as we remain and live here (according to Your perfect plan), help us increasingly choose to “live forYou...that You are more and more “exalted in” us (Philippians 1:20)! This will bring us joy and You glory!  We ask this in Your name, Savior...

and please...”COME Lord Jesus!”  AMEN!!!
