'What is the Chief End of Man?'

“The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” (WESTMINSTER CATECHISM)

Glorify God:
Psalm 86:8-12 NAS: There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like Yours. All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and they shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God.
Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and will glorify Your name forever.
1 Corinthians 6:20: For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Revelation 4:11: Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.
Micah 5:8: He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
(Lord Jesus, help us Believers remember our daily purpose: to “glorify Your name” 1) by proclaiming Your attributes, 2) by rehearsing who You are in our minds, 3) by walking “in Your truth,” and 4) through telling others about the salvation only You offer!)

Enjoy Him forever:
Luke 2:10: But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people...
John 1:12: But as many as received (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name...
Psalm 144:15b: How blessed...are the people whose God is the Lord!
Isaiah 12:2: Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.
Psalm 16:5-11: The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.
I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.
I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely.
For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Revelation 21:3-4: And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.
Philippians 4:4: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
(Lord Jesus, make us a people who constantly remember Your goodness and who closely ABIDE in You—so we can “enjoy” You both now and forever!)

May this body of Believers daily seek to “glorify” You and “enjoy” You forever, Lord! Make this our daily desire and purpose! Make this our “chief end!” We ask this in Your Son's name!
