'You Belong to Christ!'

1 Corinthians 3:23a NLT
...you belong to Christ...

Romans 1:6
And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.

John 17:1a, 6, 9 NLT
After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father...I have revealed You to the ones You gave Me from this world. They were always Yours. You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. My prayer is not for the world, but for those You have given Me, because they belong to You. All who are Mine belong to You, and You have given them to Me, so they bring Me glory.

John 15:16a, 19b
...I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit...you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world...

Brothers and sisters in the Lord: “Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ?” (Philippians 2:1) Be reminded today, fellow Believer (adapted from Charles Spurgeon)...

You are His by donation—the Father gave you to the son...
You are His by Christ's choosing—you are precious, loved, set apart, and no longer part of this world...
You are His by bloody purchase—He paid the price for your redemption...
You are His by relation—you are named by His name...
You are His by adoption—you've been made one of His brethren and joint-heirs...
You are His by seal—you've been sealed by His Holy Spirit for the day of redemption...
You are His by engagement—you are His dearly beloved, much anticipated bride...

Fellow Believers, how marvelous to “belong”...to “belong to Christ!”

Let us consecrate ourselves to Jesus, brothers and sisters—for we “belong to Christ!”
Let us joyfully labor to share His wonderful truths with the world—for we “belong to Christ!”
Let us turn away from temptation, saying, “I CANNOT do this great wickedness, for I 'belong to Christ!' "
Let us stand fast in Christ's strength when life's temporary hardships befall us—we “belong to Christ!”

Holy Spirit, we Believers ask that You increasingly change us so 1) our conduct and mannerisms, 2) our thoughts and words, and 3) our plans and deeds are made more and more like the wonderful One we belong to—for we “belong to CHRIST!”

We ask this in His glorious name...

AMEN!!!
