'How the Dice Fall...'
...And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.
The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
I know, O Lord, that a man’s way is not in himself, nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps.
Man’s steps are ordained by the Lord, how then can man understand his way?
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation to generation.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
Proverbs 16:33 NLT
We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.
Fellow Believers: if the falling of the dice is determined by the Lord, how much more every event in our entire life? And if the simple rolling of dice is guided by Him, who else but God has arranged every minute, every situation, of our every day? He who controls how the dice “fall” is the same God who knows the number of the hairs on our head (Matthew 10:30)! He who “ordains” our every day doesn't let “a single sparrow...fall to the ground without” Him allowing and “knowing it” (Matthew 10:29)! Moreover, He who loves us and “directs our steps” has ALREADY given us exactly what we need—His SON!
What holy calm washes over our minds when we remember this! What peace we have because we personally know the One in control—The One who is causing “everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them” (Romans 8:28)! What blessing we receive when we simply do as He has asked us to do—“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,” because He is working everything out...and because “He will give (us) everything (we) need” (Matthew 6:33)!
Heavenly Father, we Believers trustingly “Give all (our) worries and cares to” You this morning, because You LOVE us, You CARE “about” us (1 Peter 5:7), and You are in CONTROL! Also: 1) We thank You for Your control of our situations! 2) We thank you for Your perfect provisions ! 3) We thank you Your perfect care—especially in the provision of Your Son! We ask today for Your Spirit to wash over us with holy calm and renewed determination/enabling, knowing You are doing what is “higher” and best...
Lord Jesus: help us to simply trust, obey, and seek Your Kingdom “above all else”...for Your glory! We ask this in Your name, knowing You determine how everything is going to “fall”...
