'Controlled By Christ's Love'

2 Corinthians 5:13-15 NLT
If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

Heavenly Father, today I ask—for myself and for my brothers and sisters in Christ—that we increasingly become a body controlled by Your Son's love...

“If it seems we are crazy,” then let it be because we are not thinking or doing or speaking or living as the world. Rather, let us seem “crazy” in the eyes of the world because we are controlled by Your Son's “love”—thinking/doing/speaking/loving as He does (“to bring glory to” You)...

“If we are in our right minds,” let it be for the benefit of others—to draw them to You—with “Christ's love” controlling “us”...

Help us live “to bring glory to” You—DEAD “to our old life,” and DEAD to the ways of the world. May Your Son's love control us so we turn away from any habit, any way of thinking, any plans, and any way of living/speaking that doesn't glorify You...

May Your Son's love control us so we “no longer live for” ourselves, Lord. “Instead,” change us through Your Spirit and Word so we increasingly “live for Christ.” Give us right desire to please the Son, and Your Spirit's enabling so we recognize and “DO the good things (You) planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10), controlled by Your Son's love...

We ask this in Your Son's name, Father. Let Your Son's love completely control us...

Love that is “patient and kind...not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love” that “does not demand its own way...is not irritable, and keeps no record of when it has been wronged.” Love that “is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love” that “never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)...

Fill us with your Son's love, Father, so we can pour it out on others as we are overwhelmed and controlled by its never-ending flow!

AMEN!!!
