'Walk and Talk Review'

Ephesians 5:1 NAS
...as beloved children...

I thought I'd review today how I—as one of God's “beloved children” through faith in His Son—should be walking and talking. I'm always quite convicted when I do this walk and talk review: I am to walk and talk (behave) like a child of God, but I don't do that perfectly yet. My walk and talk always needs Holy Spirit work! I pass on my review for you to consider today as well, “beloved” child of God:

Walk
Walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of heart...having become callous...given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness (Eph. 4:17-19)
Do not be partakers with them (Eph. 5:7)
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness (Eph. 5:11)
Do not let immorality or any impurity or greed even be named among you (Eph. 5:3)
...lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit (Eph. 4:22)
Let ALL bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice (Eph. 4:31)

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit (Eph. 4:30)
You did not learn Christ in this way (Eph. 4:20)
Walk as children of light (Eph. 5:8)

I...entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love (Eph. 4:1-2)
Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth (Eph. 4:24)
Be careful how You walk, not as unwise men, but as wise (Eph. 5:15)
Making the most of your time (Eph. 5:16)
Understand what the will of the Lord is (Eph. 5:17)
Be filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18)
Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity (Ephesians 4:26-27)
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you (Eph. 4:32)
Being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace...(Eph. 4:3)
Labor, performing with (your) own hands what is good, in order that (you) may have something to share with him who has need (Eph. 4:28)
Walk in love, just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us (Eph. 5:2)
We are to grow up in all aspects into Him (Eph. 4:15)

Walk as children of light (Eph. 5:8). Be imitators of God (Eph. 5:1)

Talk
Laying aside falsehood, speak truth, each one of you, with His neighbor (Eph. 4:25)
Speaking the truth in love (Eph. 4:15)
Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear (Eph. 4:29)
There must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks (Eph. 5:4)
Let Your speech always be with grace (Colossians 4:6)
Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs (Eph. 5:19)
Always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus (Eph. 5:20)

Heavenly Father: use Your Spirit and Word to keep improving our walk and talk! We ask this in Your Son's name, for Your glory, because we are “beloved children”...

AMEN!!!
