'Colossians 4:1-6'

Colossians 4:1b-6 NLT
...Remember that you also have a Master—in heaven.
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about His mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.
Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

Heavenly Father, help us Believers to be mindful of and DO the following today...

1) Let us remember that we “have a Master—in Heaven:” we do not belong to ourselves. We are to be about Your kingdom, not off building our own...

2) Help us increasingly “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.” Throughout the day, keep us praying for those people and situations Your Spirit brings to mind. Flood us with thankfulness and praise as Your Word reminds us of all You have done...

3) We ask that You “give us many opportunities to speak about (Your) mysterious plan concerning Christ,” because that's what we Believers are called to do. Moreover, help us recognize every opportunity given, and give us Your words to say (so we share the Good News “as clearly as” possible)...

4) We ask that You help us “live wisely” each day—make us mindful (minute by minute!) that everything we think, plan, say and do should bring You glory...

5) We ask for you to keep changing us into Your Son's image, so we increasingly follow Your Spirit and Word, making “the most of every opportunity” to live for You...

6) Finally, “Let (our) conversation(s) be gracious and attractive”—with words that glorify You, discussions that exalt You, and speaking Your truths in love—so we “will have the right response for everyone”...

We ask this in Your Son's name, “Master”...

AMEN
