'Precious Faith'

2 Peter 1:1 NLT
...I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ: take time to consider the “precious faith” that“was given to you” today...

Romans 3:30
There is only one God, and He makes people right with Himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.

Romans 4:5
...people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.

Romans 4:3,23-25,11
For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in Him, the One who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and He was raised to life to make us right with God. Abraham is the spiritual father of those who have faith...They are counted as righteous because of their faith.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the “precious faith” You have “given” us. We know “faith is the key” and it's Your “free gift.” We “have been made right in God's sight by faith,” and “we have peace with God because of what (You have) done for us” (Romans 4:16,5:1). Since we have been given so precious a gift, Lord, help us follow Abraham's example and “have the same kind of faith Abraham had” (Romans 4:12)...

1) That we believe Your Word even when the promises seem “utterly impossible” (Romans 4:18),
2) That our faith will “not weaken,” but grow stronger, and in this (we bring) “glory to God” (4:19,20),
3) That we grow “absolutely convinced that God (is) able to do anything He promised” (4:21),
4) That we “confidently and joyfully look forward” to the fulfillment of those promises (5:2),
5) That our personal relationship with You (through faith) compels us to obey...

We ask this in Your name, Lord, for the furthering of Your Kingdom and for Your glory. We who have been made Righteous through faith in Your Son—help us increasingly “live by FAITH” (Hebrew 10:38)...because it's “impossible to please (You) without” it (Hebrews 11:6)!
