'Exodus 14 & 15'

Exodus 14:1, 4b,-10-31, 15:1-21 NLT

Then the Lord gave these instructions to Moses...So the Israelites camped there as they were told. As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the Lord...and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today...The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!

Then the Egyptians—all of Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and charioteers—chased them into the middle of the sea...the waters returned and covered all the chariots and charioteers—the entire army of Pharaoh. Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived. When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before Him. They put their faith in the Lord and in His servant Moses.

(Chapter 15) Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord:
“I will SING to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously;
He has hurled both horse and rider into the sea!
The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory!
This is my God, and I will PRAISE Him—
My father’s God, and I will EXALT Him!
The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is His name!
Pharaoh’s chariots and army He has hurled into the sea!
“Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power!
Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy!
In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrow those who rise against You!

“Who is like You among the gods, O Lord—glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? With Your unfailing love You lead the people You have redeemed. In Your might, You guide them”...

The Lord will reign forever and ever!”

I love this story. May it remind us Believers today...
1) To follow the Lord's instructions and precepts, as we have been “told” in His Word,
2) To pray and “cry out to the Lord”...especially when situations look impossible,
3) To not “be afraid," but “stand still and watch the Lord rescue” and “fight for you,”
4) To be “filled with awe before Him” when He “smashes the enemy” and “overthrows those who rise against Him,”
5) To put our “faith in the Lord—our mighty “Warrior”—who is “glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor,” and “performing great wonders!”

Lord! Make Your people a unified body who daily rejoices in who You are and in what You have done—past, present, and future! May we “SING to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; He has hurled both horse and rider into the sea! The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory! This is my God, and I will PRAISE Him—My father’s God, and I will EXALT Him! With your unfailing love You lead the people You have redeemed. In your might, You guide them! The Lord will reign forever and ever!”

AMEN!!!
