'Help me love You MORE!'
Deuteronomy 10:12-13 NLT
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases Him, and love Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees...for your own good.
And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
...the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.”
Heavenly Father, today I ask Your help to do one thing—help me love You more. That is, help all of us who believe “commit (ourselves) wholeheartedly to” loving You so we increasingly 1) “fear” You (have reverence for You), 2) “live in a way that pleases” You, 3) “serve (You) with all (our) heart and soul,” 4) “obey (Your) commands and decrees...for (our) own good,” and 5) “walk humbly with” You. We ask this in Your Son's name (on account of who You are, on account of what You've done, on account of how You love us!). You are worth loving and pursuing “with all (our) heart, all (our) soul, and all (our) mind,” Father! Help us love You more!
